At Erzberg, in Eisenerz, Styria, exactly from 23. till 27. May the European Commission funds a civil protection exercise.

MODEX, Steiermark

In the edition ‘2018 Austria ModEX’, the following teams will be participating:

• Cave Search and Rescue Team from Slovenia;
• Urban Search and Rescue Team from Greece;
• Urban Search and Rescue Team from Lithuania;
• Technical Assistance and Support Team from Latvia and Lithuania; and
• a team of European Civil Protection Experts from the European Commission.

MHW ERT trainings course 2018: The participants performed well in tis challenging one-week course and I want to thank everybody involved for their assistance.
The simulation actors, the participants and the MHW staff, led and coached by Gabriel Mayer.

MODEX, Styria

Just in preparation of EU MODEX in Eisenerz / Austria. From 24 May on two Urban Search and Rescue Teams from Lituania and Greece, one Cave Rescue Team from Slovenia and one drone/UAV Team from France will participate in this exercise.

It was already a challenge to prepare this exercise and it will be a challenge for the Teams – as there will be for the first time a certification of a cave rescue Team in Europe and the USAR Teams will have USAR sites in a mountainous area here in Austria. During the last months the Red Cross Training ground at Erzberg was adapted accordingly – so it will be interesting to see how the Teams will solve the Tasks.
